The Primary Phase Principle (TPPP) is a music project of Eric St-Onge in Winnipeg, Canada, conceived in Nov 2023.TPPP attempts to convey fictional worlds and stories without the use of lyrics. Each track is thoughtfully crafted, often with highly dynamic structures and instrumentation that tends toward blending dark electronic tones with bright organic melodies.Influences include How To Destroy Angels, Nine Inch Nails, Tangerine Dream, and science fiction stories.All of TPPP's music is created on a laptop using Reason without the use of artificial intelligence.

This pair of concept albums tell of a future history of Earth in which all of humanity has migrated underground in the wake of environmental collapse. Over many generations, their entire world becomes part of the Machine, a giant distributed automated mechanism which tends to their every need. History becomes forgotten, and they lose sight of the origins and true purpose of the Machine.The Bandcamp downloads come with digital booklets providing an additional exploration of the lore and story behind the music.

Three of the five tracks were previously released by Zeynep Sophia, now re-imagined by The Primary Phase Principle. The other two were entirely new original collaborations.

A massive collaboration between four artists fusing prog metal, rock, industrial and rap elements into a furious and complex track, packed full of energy and catchy hooks.

Bio

Eric was born in 1987. He got his start in music in the form of guitar lessons at the age of 8. He wrote songs and played guitar in various bands through his teen years and early twenties, mainly hard rock and metal.He began learning to write and produce his own music at the age of 16 using GarageBand. At 19, he obtained a diploma in audio engineering from the Mid-Ocean School of Media Arts in Winnipeg, where he learned Pro Tools and Reason.After a 5-year stint producing radio advertisements, he changed career paths and obtained a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Manitoba, which was the beginning of a 12 year hiatus from music production.In 2023, while working as an electronics Systems Engineer, he finally decided to take up music once again, re-branding as The Primary Phase Principle.Eric also has a side-project of instrumental industrial rock/metal called Protonoid.
